Data transfer to third countries

As part of the provision of the website, it cannot be ruled out that personal data will be transmitted to service providers in third countries, in particular the USA.

Insofar as personal data is transmitted to recipients in the USA who participate in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and are listed in the Data Privacy Framework List, the transmission takes place on the basis of the adequacy decision of the European Commission pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR.

5. Plugins, Tools, Links

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. The Google Fonts are installed locally. A connection to Google's servers does not take place.

Links

On our website, links to our profiles on social networks are integrated. These are pure links or clickable icons. As long as you do not click on these links, no processing of your personal data takes place by the social networks, to the best of our knowledge.

We currently maintain profiles or contact options with the following providers:

Facebook and Instagram: Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland

The social media platforms regularly process users' personal data for their own purposes as well (e.g., for profiling and interest-based advertising) and sometimes make use of servers in third countries, particularly in the USA.

We have no influence over these data processing operations.

What happens when you click on a social media link?

When you click on a social media icon or a corresponding text link, a direct connection is established between your browser and the servers of the respective platform. Depending on the provider, the following data in particular may be transmitted:

  • the address (URL) of the website on which the link is located (referrer),

  • date and time of accessing the website or clicking the link,

  • information about the device, operating system, and browser you are using,

  • your IP address.

If you are logged into the respective provider, they can associate the information that you visited our website and clicked the link with your user account there.

This can also occur across devices if you are logged in via different end devices. If you wish to avoid this association, you should log out of your respective user account and, if necessary, delete cookies before clicking the links.

Please also note that the platforms may collect further data independently (e.g., using cookies or other tracking technologies) and process this into comprehensive usage profiles – including for behavioral advertising, as is particularly the case with Meta services (Facebook, Instagram). We have no influence over this.

Responsibility under GDPR

We are the controller within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR for data processing on our website (including the display of social media links). As soon as you click on one of our social media links and switch to the page of the respective provider, data processing is primarily the responsibility of the respective platform operator. This applies in particular to:

  • Creation of usage profiles by the platform,

  • Storage and evaluation of your usage behavior for (behavior-based) advertising,

  • if applicable, merging with other data from your user account or other services of the provider

These platform operators are independent controllers under data protection law. In some cases, supplementary agreements on joint controllership exist, for example for "Insights" or statistical data (e.g. "Page Controller Addendum" for Facebook pages). You can find more detailed information on this in the privacy policy of the respective provider.

Purposes and legal basis of our links

We link to our profiles on social networks in order to:

  • present our company, our services, and our content there as well

  • communicate with customers, interested parties, and applicants,

  • better understand feedback and the reach of our content.

Data processing within the scope of integrating the links (specifically the display of the icons and the associated ability to access our social media pages) is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in optimized corporate presentation and communication with the public.

Any further processing on the platforms (e.g., in your user account, through cookies/tracking) is governed by the legal bases of the respective providers (e.g., consent or legitimate interest in accordance with their privacy policies). Information on this can be found in the privacy policies of the providers.

Possible data transfer to third countries (specifically the USA)

The social media platforms partially operate their servers in countries outside the EU/EEA, in particular in the USA. Your data may therefore also be transferred to countries with a potentially lower level of data protection than in the EU. As things stand today, the providers base data transfers to the USA, among other things, on:

  • the adequacy decision of the EU Commission (EU-US Data Privacy Framework, DPF), provided that the respective provider is certified accordingly, and/or

  • the conclusion of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) of the EU Commission.

Up-to-date information on whether the respective provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and which guarantees are implemented can be found in the privacy policies and the published data transfer regulations of the providers.

Your rights, and options for objection and revocation

In connection with the use of social media platforms, you are generally entitled to the data subject rights described in this privacy policy (Art. 15–21 GDPR), in particular:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR),

  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR),

  • Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR),

  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),

  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),

  • Objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR), in particular against profiling and direct marketing,

  • Withdrawal of consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

You can assert these rights both against us and against the respective platform operator. In practice, it is often useful to contact the respective provider directly, as only they have full access to your data stored there. In addition, the platforms offer their own settings and opt-out options.

Please inform yourself

Privacy information of the platform operators

Further details on data processing by the individual platforms (including the type, scope, purposes of processing, legal bases, storage periods, recipients and your rights there) can be found in the respective applicable privacy policies of the providers, e.g.

6. Own Services

Handling of applicant data

We offer you the opportunity to apply for a position with us (e.g., by email, by post, or via our online applicant form). In the following, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data are carried out in accordance with applicable data protection law and all other statutory provisions, and that your data will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Scope and purpose of data collection

If you send us an application, we will process your associated personal data (e.g. contact and communication data, application documents, notes from job interviews, etc.) to the extent that this is necessary to decide on the establishment of an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is Section 26 BDSG-new under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR (general contract initiation) and - if you have given your consent - Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Within our company, your personal data will only be passed on to persons involved in processing your application.

If the application is successful, the data you have submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of Section 26 BDSG-new and Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.

Data retention period

If we are unable to make you a job offer, if you reject a job offer, or if you withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of the application). Afterwards, the data will be deleted and the physical application documents will be destroyed.

The retention serves in particular for evidentiary purposes in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be required after the expiry of the 6-month period (e.g. due to an imminent or pending legal dispute), deletion will only take place once the purpose for further retention no longer applies.

Longer retention may also take place if you have given corresponding consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or if statutory retention requirements prevent deletion.
